Gentle Rigor is a small publisher of calm, research-backed habit guides and tools. We collect as little as we can, we never sell it, and we only email you about the thing you asked for.
1. Who we are
Gentle Rigor (“Gentle Rigor,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by ID49 Digital LLC. We publish educational content and digital products about staying consistent without self-hatred — including a free guide, the Forgiving Systems Toolkit, and an upcoming course and app.
This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices, across our website at gentlerigor.com, our email signups, and the emails we send you.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
When you sign up for the free guide or join a waitlist, we collect:
- Email address — required, so we can send you the guide or waitlist updates.
- First name — optional, used only to address you in emails.
We also record which list you joined (the free guide, the course waitlist, or the app waitlist) and a simple source label, so we know what you asked for and only email you about that.
2.2 Purchases
When you buy the Forgiving Systems Toolkit, the checkout and payment are handled entirely by our payment provider, Polar. We never see or store your card number. We may receive limited order details from Polar — such as your email, the product purchased, and the amount — to fulfil and support your order.
2.3 Technical data
Like most websites, our host generates standard server logs (for example, IP address, browser type, and timestamps) to keep the site running and secure. Our signup form also includes a hidden anti-spam field; if it is filled in (which only automated bots do), we discard the submission.
2.4 What we do not collect
- No payment card details — those stay with Polar.
- No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- No purchase or sale of your data from or to data brokers.
3. How we use your information
- To send you the free guide you requested, including the download link.
- To notify you about the specific product whose waitlist you joined.
- To fulfil, deliver, and support any purchase you make.
- To operate, secure, and improve the website.
- To reply to you when you contact us.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties. We only email you about the list you joined.
4. How we share your information
We share data only with the service providers we need to run Gentle Rigor. They act as processors on our instructions.
4.1 Email platform — MailHub
Your contact details and list membership are stored in MailHub, our email platform (also operated by ID49 Digital LLC), which sends our emails.
4.2 Payments — Polar
Toolkit purchases are processed by Polar, which collects and stores your payment information under its own privacy policy.
4.3 Hosting — Vercel
Our website and signup function are hosted on Vercel, which processes requests to the site.
4.4 Legal requirements
We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process, such as a court order or subpoena.
4.5 No sale of data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for any purpose.

7. Brazilian data protection (LGPD)
If you are in Brazil, you have the rights granted by the LGPD, including confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymization, portability, deletion, information about sharing, and revocation of consent. We process your data based on (a) performance of our service to you, (b) your consent where applicable, and (c) our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service. 8. European data protection (GDPR)
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, data portability, and to withdraw consent, as well as to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Our legal bases are (a) consent (for marketing emails), (b) performance of a contract (delivering a product you bought), and (c) our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service. 9. Children's privacy
Gentle Rigor is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact hi@gentlerigor.com and we will delete it.
